Parts of an Email

An email typically consists of several parts, each serving a specific purpose. Here are the common parts of an email.

Sender & Recipient

Sender: The person or entity who initiates the message and sends it to one or more recipients.
Recipient: The email address is typically displayed in the 'To' field and is addressed directly to them.

Subject & Salutation

Subject Line: A brief statement that summarizes the content or purpose of an email.
Salutation: A polite and formal greeting used to address the recipient of an email.

Body

The main text or content of an email where the sender writes their message, includes any necessary links, images, or attachments, concise, and professional in its presentation. The body of an email should be well-organized and easy to read, and it should be tailored to the specific recipient.

Closing Line & Signature

Closing Line: To conclude and help convey your final thoughts and gratitude with a professional tone, to end your message before signing off.
Signature: A block of text appended to the end of an email, which contains the sender's name, contact information, and designation or logos.
